Swimwerks Opens New Intake for Its Swimming Instructor Course, Backed by a Student Placement Guarantee

As demand for qualified coaches grows, Swimwerks is opening a new intake for its swimming instructor course, which pairs SSI certification with guaranteed first student placements.

Singapore, Swimwerks has opened a new intake for its swimming instructor course, aimed at equipping proficient swimmers with SSI certification and the practical teaching skills needed to start coaching professionally in Singapore.

The move comes as the wider learn-to-swim sector continues to expand, with more children and adults signing up for lessons each year. That growth has, in turn, increased demand for coaches, while also leaving many newly certified instructors without a clear way to find their first paying students.

Swimwerks’ course covers theory and practical training, followed by supervised attachment classes with mentor coaches and a final evaluation before certification. What sets the intake apart is what happens after: graduates are matched with paying students at condominiums near them within 60 days of passing, or their course fee is refunded. Coaches run their own independent teaching business, setting their own schedule and keeping 100% of lesson fees, rather than joining Swimwerks as employees.

The course is open to proficient swimmers aged 16 and above with no prior coaching experience required, including career switchers, working adults seeking a side income, and retirees looking for flexible work. Places for the upcoming intake are limited, as Swimwerks caps enrolment to protect the placement guarantee.

Those interested in applying can find course dates, requirements and enrolment details on the Swimwerks website.
